MA/MS in History and Philosophy of Science

The master's gives a clear overview of the main themes, problems and methodological trends that have shaped the history and philosophy of science internationally. It also explains the specific character of science and technology in Portugal, both historically and in contemporary analysis, with a first introduction to conserving and musealising Portuguese scientific and technological heritage. Taught in English, the two-year, 120 ECTS programme runs over four semesters, mostly after working hours. It suits graduates from any scientific field who want a historical and philosophical perspective on science and its development. Applications are made online through the faculty portal, and selection weighs academic grade most heavily, followed by CV and professional experience.
