The Opticianry associate-degree programme began in 2021-2022 within the Medical Services and Techniques department. It trains opticians to prepare and fit optical aids for refractive errors prescribed by eye doctors. Students practise workshop techniques alongside physics, geometric optics, eye anatomy and physiology, accounting and business management.
Graduates can select, prepare and fit lenses and frames to prescriptions, take the necessary measurements from users, and manage the business, health and ethical issues of the profession. The programme includes an internship.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is through Türkiye's national university entrance examination YKS (Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı), with central placement by ÖSYM using the TYT (basic proficiency) score type. In the 2026 guide the programme offered 48 places; the lowest placed candidate scored 336.8 (success rank 500,921). Placement variants: 50% discount, full scholarship (Burslu). International students apply directly to the university under its international (YÖS) quota.
