Overview

The two-year Opticianry associate-degree programme trains opticians who select and prepare eyewear to an ophthalmologist's prescription and fit it to the patient. The programme combines professional theory and practical courses with compulsory YÖK, basic health and science and mathematics courses. Students complete 120 ECTS over four semesters, including a compulsory professional internship, and must reach a minimum grade point average. Graduates receive an associate-degree diploma in Optisyenlik and can transfer through a vertical transfer exam into related bachelor's programmes.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Central placement through the national YKS exam run by ÖSYM, score type TYT. 35 places. Lowest placement score 354.3 (success rank 386,539). Admission follows YÖK regulations and ÖSYM placement.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
