Overview

The two-year Anaesthesia programme trains anaesthesia technicians who prepare patients and equipment for anaesthesia and sedation under the supervision of an anaesthesiologist. Technicians monitor vital functions during procedures, keep the related records and report unusual findings to the anaesthesiologist. The programme started in 2013–2014 in the School of Health Services and is taught in Turkish. Its aim is to produce technicians who keep their knowledge current and who work within legal and ethical frameworks in patient care.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission through the YKS TYT score type and ÖSYM central placement. The 2026 guide lists 71 places, a lowest placement score of 357 and a success rank of 371,274. Candidates must be physically fit for continuous standing, free of allergy to chemical odours, careful, patient, responsible and skilled with their hands.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
