The Medical Laboratory Techniques programme trains technicians who carry out laboratory analyses in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment processes of health services. Graduates perform analyses in line with current scientific knowledge and professional standards, use laboratory equipment, apply quality management and biosafety principles, and record and report results accurately.
The programme sets ten objectives covering laboratory practice, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, hematology, ethics, patient rights, teamwork and lifelong learning. Graduates work in biochemistry, microbiology, hematology, molecular biology and pathology units of public and private health institutions, as well as in research laboratories and universities.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is through the YKS exam with ÖSYM central placement, score type TYT. The 2026 guide lists 28 places. The lowest placement score was 365.5 at success rank 326,549.

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
