The Archaeology bachelor's programme is a four-year, Turkish-language programme awarding a bachelor's degree in archaeology. Its three areas are classical archaeology, protohistory and pre-Asian archaeology, and prehistoric archaeology. Compulsory courses cover the periods and civilisations from the Palaeolithic to the Late Roman and Early Byzantine eras, with elective courses allowing specialisation.
Graduates may work as archaeologists at the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in state and private museums, provincial protection boards, municipalities and the Mineral Research and Exploration Institute. Archaeologists fluent in a foreign language may work as professional tourist guides. Graduates may apply to master's or doctoral programmes that accept them.
