Overview
The online Master of Social Work offers two paths. The traditional path suits students entering social work from other backgrounds, while the advanced standing path is a shorter route for those who already hold a social work degree.
Graduates work as addiction counselors, caseworkers, child and family counselors, crisis workers, hospice workers and agency directors. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects faster than average growth for social workers.
The Council on Social Work Education accredits it, and each path has its own admission requirements listed on the program page. Career advising, résumé review and graduate school support are available. Career advising, internship access and job-search help come from the university's career office, while the financial services team walks applicants through FAFSA, payment plans and tuition deferment. The university is accredited by its regional accreditor, the Middle States Commission.
