The Master of Accountancy is a non-thesis professional degree from the School of Accountancy that builds technical knowledge, research ability, and communication, with a clear emphasis on CPA licensing. Campus students take an exam preparation course in the spring and attempt every section of the CPA test before they graduate.
Students choose between attending on campus and studying online. Online learners watch recordings of the campus lectures, earn the same accredited credential, and are held to identical standards. A brief residency on campus is part of the program.
The degree requires between thirty and forty-two semester hours. A twelve-hour online graduate certificate in accountancy also exists for people who need extra credits for licensure, want to teach at college level, or wish to add a credential to another business master's.
