Program details

Overview

The Computer Programming certificate gives students command of basic programming ideas. Participants gain fluency in three or more programming languages and go deep on the harder ideas in at least one. Anyone without basic computer skills should take CIS 111 first. Learners should expect to set aside large blocks of time to build proficiency. Credit earned at other institutions may be applied, though sign-off on each CIS or CIT course rests with the department chair or by full-time CIS faculty.
