BA/BS in Computer Systems Analysis

The Computer Information Systems major blends computing fundamentals with study in business, economics and the social sciences. It balances theory with hands-on practice so graduates can handle programming, system design, and data processing and analysis. Students are expected to analyze computing problems, build and evaluate solutions, and communicate well in professional settings. They also learn to weigh legal and ethical duties and to collaborate on teams, sometimes in a leading role. Graduates can help organizations deploy, operate and manage their information systems, bringing technical and organizational awareness to the demands of the information age. Prospective students can consult the 2026-2027 catalog entry published by the university for the full list of required courses, special conditions and learning outcomes, and should plan their sequence of study with a departmental advisor.
