MA/MS in Biology, General

This graduate degree in biological sciences is a research-focused Master of Science. Participants receive advanced training and pursue independent investigations in niche areas. Lab or field research is central, supported by close mentoring from faculty. Students sharpen their skills in planning experiments, carrying them out, and analyzing and interpreting data. The program also includes a teaching assistantship requirement, which gives students the chance to discuss and practice teaching methods in the biological sciences while contributing to undergraduate instruction. Interested applicants should review the 2026-2027 graduate catalog entry published by the university, which details the required courses, admission steps and learning outcomes, and should contact the program coordinator with questions about planning their studies and meeting each requirement on time without surprises, whichever term they begin.
