AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology at Chabot gives students a scientific look at people everywhere and in every era, covering behavior, biology, social groups and extinct relatives of modern people. Because the subject is too broad for a single lens, it is divided into four subfields. Linguistics looks at human communication, archaeology examines material remains to understand past behavior, biological anthropology studies human biology and behavior, and sociocultural anthropology focuses on culture and society. Students may complete an associate degree or an associate transfer degree in the subject. Program maps and requirement lists are linked from the department page, with full curriculum details in the college catalog. The department page links to its team and contact details, and students are directed to the college catalog for curriculum. Each award has a program map showing a suggested sequence by term to help students plan which classes to take and when.
