Overview

Philosophy at Cornell introduces students to core questions of being, knowing, thought, speech, logic and values, from highly theoretical to practical, and to texts from several philosophical traditions. Courses strengthen analysis and writing, abilities that carry over to academic and other careers. The major requires a set of philosophy courses of at least three credits each. Honors candidates must meet GPA standards within the major and across their Cornell coursework.
