Accounting at Elizabethtown is a four-year program designed to prepare students for the CPA exam and for entry into public accounting. It also supplies the business grounding needed for corporate finance, government and nonprofit work. Every School of Business student completes an internship or takes part in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and many do both, offering free basic tax preparation to local residents on modest incomes. Under Pennsylvania's updated licensure rules, a bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant work can qualify candidates, so the four-year path leads directly toward licensure. The Career Development Center connects students with regional employers.
