BA/BS in Biotechnology

The Biotechnology major sits where biomedical research, genetic engineering and ethics meet. It is designed for students heading to graduate school or to roles as research associates in academic institutions or biotechnology companies. The curriculum reflects advice gathered from hospitals, graduate institutions, research facilities and biotech firms. Teaching blends problem-based learning, research led by students and professional internships, with attention to microbiology and cellular and molecular methods. The program also stresses ethical use of technology, ongoing learning and leadership development. Graduates move into the workforce or continue to advanced study, and students in other majors can add a biology minor to broaden their knowledge. Prospective students can request information, meet the faculty and browse the course catalog from the program page, then follow the college's steps to apply and become a Blue Jay at Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
