MA/MS in Chemistry

Skilled scientists and laboratory professionals who can solve complicated chemical problems are the intended outcome of this graduate degree. Their work may take place across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, industry or environmental science. Students gain time in advanced laboratories using sophisticated instruments, and they receive steady guidance from faculty. Through this combination they develop expertise in analyzing chemicals, interpreting results, controlling quality and conducting scientific research. Governors State sits near numerous industrial, pharmaceutical and scientific employers throughout the Chicago metropolitan region. That proximity gives students opportunities to build professional networks and collaborate on applied research projects. The program is suited to those who want to deepen their technical competence beyond the bachelor's level and who plan to work in settings where precise measurement and careful analysis are daily requirements.
