Cert in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management

This certificate is for learners and career changers who want a footing in information technology before going further. It touches on server administration and networking, plus one more area chosen from security, programming, databases or maintenance. It may also help workers who need to follow technical conversations and vocabulary but do not do IT jobs day to day. A stated outcome is being able to set up, configure, support and fix operating systems and networking equipment. The core begins with a course on IT and cybersecurity essentials, which a CompTIA A+ credential can replace. Students need at least 2.5 in each course, and all of the credits count toward the associate degree in cybersecurity and networking. Prospective students can read the full catalog entry for the complete list of required courses and learning outcomes, and an advisor can help plan a schedule that fits their goals.
