Cert in Air Transportation

This short certificate introduces people with no aviation experience to the fundamentals of flight knowledge. Students take two courses, one in private pilot ground school and one in aviation weather. Together they build the understanding needed to sit the written portion of the FAA private pilot examination. Program outcomes center on preparing for work in aviation, understanding how the global industry fits together, and collaborating with a varied team of aviation professionals using the skills and technology of the field. The certificate can serve as a first step before further flight or aviation study. Green River College publishes this credential in its professional and technical catalog, where the full list of required courses sits beside program outcomes and faculty contacts. Prospective students can review those details, compare them with their own goals, and reach out to the named contacts with questions before enrolling.
