PhD in Engineering Science

Run jointly across several departments, this doctoral program lets students pursue advanced research that crosses traditional boundaries. Participating areas span chemistry, computing, electrical and computer engineering, math, statistics, mechanical and measurement engineering, and physics. Students declare a concentration, with options running from applied math and computational physics to environmental science, measurement and control, and statistics. A few concentrations are restricted to students based in particular home departments, such as civil and environmental engineering or electrical and computer engineering.
