AA/AS in Computer Programming

Joliet Junior College offers this computer programming degree fully online. Students work through several programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C and C++, writing a series of programs in each course that tackle realistic problems. Along the way learners compile a portfolio of marketable skills. Many courses also transfer, so students can continue toward a bachelor's degree; faculty advisors listed on the program page can explain the options. The program fits graduates for jobs such as software engineer, mobile developer, programmer analyst, systems analyst, embedded systems developer or systems programmer. Others may take roles in computer support or technical support, and the college says graduates may be employed as entry-level analysts as well.
