The Kansas insurance undergraduate certificate gives students the knowledge to begin a career in insurance and financial services. It introduces financial planning basics and the main insurance lines, such as health, life, property and casualty, annuities and employee benefit plans.
The program grew out of a partnership with an insurance education foundation in Kansas that works with industry leaders to find qualified graduates, and it encourages students in business and financial planning to consider insurance careers. The courses also count toward the core of the online personal financial planning bachelor's degree.
It is delivered entirely online by on-campus professors and is open to freshmen, transfer, international and nondegree students who meet general university admission requirements. Prospective students can review admission requirements, request information and submit an application through the university website. Advisors help students plan coursework and understand how the program fits their goals.
