Graduates of this bachelor's degree are ready to work across animal agriculture and the livestock sector. The curriculum draws on animal nutrition, genetics, reproduction, physiology and agribusiness.
Specialties include animal products, bioscience and biotech, business, communication and marketing, livestock production, or science with a pre-vet emphasis. A minor is available too.
Learning continues outside lectures through department clubs, judging teams, campus jobs, internships and work at livestock, equine and poultry units close to campus. Graduates become animal nutritionists, extension educators, feedlot managers, geneticists, sales and marketing managers or laboratory animal caretakers. Students also get practical training in research laboratories, can view estimated costs for an academic year through the university, and may apply for university-wide scholarships.
