AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology at Los Angeles Harbor College offers an Associate in Arts for Transfer. It is intended for students who plan to continue to a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology or a related field at a California State University, with guaranteed system admission and priority consideration for the equivalent program. Students complete transferable coursework that includes a block of major units plus one of two general education patterns. Passing grades at a set level are required, along with a minimum overall GPA, and a counselor can advise on admission and transfer details. Learning outcomes include describing major topics, developments and debates in anthropology, applying key concepts across theoretical and practical areas, and discussing local, national and global perspectives. Students also build workplace skills such as communication, technology use and teamwork.
