The Computer Information Systems associate degree is aimed at students who want to build larger software applications and understand how computers work underneath. Along with architecture and operating systems, the coursework covers object-oriented and modular design approaches. Students study data structures and the algorithms that operate on them, learning how to design, apply and evaluate each. This gives a technical grounding that employers in information technology value.
