Overview
Massachusetts Bay Community College is a public two-year college serving Greater Boston and the MetroWest region from campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham and Ashland.
It was founded in 1961 and is one of fifteen publicly funded community colleges in Massachusetts, accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. Students can earn associate degrees and certificates in fields that include health sciences, nursing, computer science and cybersecurity, engineering, business, criminal justice, education and human services, and the liberal arts.
Programs are built either to prepare graduates for direct entry into the workforce or to transfer toward a bachelor's degree, and the college reports transfer agreements with the University of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts state universities. Most Massachusetts residents without a bachelor's degree can attend tuition-free through the state's free community college grant, provided they meet residency, FAFSA and enrollment requirements.
International students are welcome to apply, including those on F-1 visas, and a partnership with Framingham State University gives a small number of students access to dormitory housing.
