AA/AS in Management Information Systems and Services

The Computer Information Systems associate degree prepares students to transfer at the junior level into business-oriented or technical four-year programs. It was developed around guidelines published by a computing professional association. People who finish related bachelor's degrees go on to work as application programmers, business process specialists, database administrators, systems analysts, network engineers and sales associates for systems. Students learn to explain and create policies, procedures for computer information, write and use technical documentation, understand how organizations operate and where technology fits, apply network technologies and protocols, and evaluate whether a proposed information system is workable. The Associate in Science is designed mainly as the first half of a bachelor's degree rather than as a direct job credential.
