Overview
Mercer County Community College is a public two-year college serving central New Jersey.
Its main campus is in West Windsor, and the James Kerney Campus sits in downtown Trenton, giving students a choice of locations close to home. The college offers associate degrees and credit certificates in a wide range of fields, from aviation and funeral service to game design, plant science and accounting.
Degree programs are described as either transfer or career paths, and most require no more than 60 credits to complete. Business studies, criminal justice and liberal arts degrees can be completed entirely online, and students who are unsure of a major can take individual courses before committing to a program.
Mercer also hosts bachelor's and master's programs on site through Rutgers University and William Paterson University, and it has guaranteed transfer agreements with Rider University covering more than 40 prograMs. Other options include an honors program, study abroad through semester placements and faculty-led study tours, English as a second language, high school equivalency preparation and non-credit workforce courses.
Each enrolled student is assigned an academic advisor and a faculty advisor. Some programs have limited seats, and preference for those places goes to Mercer County residents and early applicants.
Applicants can start with the college's admissions office, which can be reached by email or phone.
