AA/AS in Agricultural Mechanization

Agriculture Mechanics is an Associate of Science degree at Modesto Junior College, housed in the School of Agriculture. The award centers on 30 units of major coursework. The curriculum aims at many occupations connected with agricultural mechanics. Students gain strong skills in welding and metal fabrication, then add equipment repair, hydraulic work and electrical systems. Careers mentioned include farm technician, fabricator and equipment mechanic, and the degree also suits transfer toward welding, metallurgy, engineering or teacher preparation, including high school shop teaching. As a degree, the program takes students further than a certificate and gives a broader academic record. Some graduates move straight into work, while others use the credits as a base for continued study elsewhere, depending on the requirements of the institution they choose. Prospective students can reach the listed faculty or the relevant division for planning help. The college catalog holds the current course requirements and should be checked before enrolling.
