Cert in Audiovisual Communications Technologies/Technicians

Moorpark College created this certificate for people who want to work in sound, whether in studios, in recording rooms or at live events. Students practice with tools used by working professionals, among them Pro Tools, along with systems for amplifying live performances. The aim is to give learners a sound footing in the core skills employers expect from a new hire. Possible roles include recording engineer and other positions around audio production. This is the first of the audio engineering certificates, so it works as an entry point for those new to the field. Because much of the learning happens through direct work with equipment, students gain familiarity with the technology before they begin applying for jobs. The catalog lists the courses required for the award.
