Cert in Dance

This Moorpark College certificate treats dance as an art form and gives students a flexible route to study it according to their personal and career goals. Participants choose a focus from four course categories: technique, lecture, theory and creative applications, and general dance and production. Beyond the studio, the program develops abilities that carry into many areas of life. Observation, reflection, analysis and communication are practiced throughout, and these link dance to a wide range of other fields of study and research. Students completing the Certificate of Achievement take a minimum of 10 units of movement technique courses, along with additional choices from the other categories. The catalog details the full list of options, and a counselor can help students build a schedule.
