BA/BS in Mathematics

Mathematics trains students to analyze, recognize patterns and model real situations. The core covers analysis, discrete mathematics, linear algebra and calculus, along with proof writing and clear communication of ideas. Elective paths might lead into game theory, population models, networks or cryptography, and students can focus on foundational topics such as algebra, topology and number theory. Study abroad options include the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics and Math in Moscow. The major is supported by mentoring, research chances and classes of modest size. Graduates go on to actuarial science, finance, teaching, analytics, software work and graduate study. The department pages list faculty, courses, requirements and advising information for majors. Prospective students can apply or ask for more information through the college website. Tuition and deadlines are not stated on this page, so applicants should confirm costs and dates directly with the college admission office.
