AA/AS in Veterinary/Animal Health Technologies/Technicians

Veterinary Technology at Ogeechee Technical College leads to an Associate of Applied Science and prepares students to work as veterinary technicians. The program sits in the occupational studies building and is directed by a licensed veterinarian who trained at the University of Georgia. The curriculum has recognition from the American Veterinary Medical Association through its committee on veterinary technician education. Learners move into clinical rotations only after a background check and a drug screen have been reviewed and cleared by the dean. The department also offers an assistant certificate and a sonographer certificate for those who want a shorter route into animal health work. Graduates of the associate program are prepared for positions in clinics, hospitals and related animal care settings in Georgia and beyond.
