BA/BS in Design and Applied Arts

Learners in this bachelor of arts program develop analytical judgment and technical fluency by moving through the stages of the design process and practicing the problem-solving approaches that go with it. A minor is open to students in other majors. Facilities include a computer lab reserved for art and design that is open at every hour, plus several shared studio spaces. The campus gallery serves as a teaching laboratory, where students plan, design and mount shows and display their own pieces. Each year seniors research, create and present a large professional project in a final exhibition. Possible careers include illustrator, graphic artist, photo editor, visual designer, art director or creative lead. Students may join the local chapter activities of AIGA, the professional design association, and take internships with Columbus employers.
