— it helps other students.
This twelve-month orthopaedic residency for physical therapists is meant for working clinicians who want advanced training without moving or leaving full-time practice. It blends online coursework with two on-campus intensives in Denver and a block of direct mentorship.
Participants develop skills in manipulation, dry needling, several kinds of mobilization, muscle energy and soft tissue methods, and prescribing exercise. The residency prepares them for higher-level clinical reasoning and for the specialty board examination in orthopaedics. A new cohort begins each August.
The structure is designed for clinicians who are already working, so most study happens remotely and fits around a clinical schedule. The page notes that residents have done very well on the board certification exam for the orthopaedic specialty.
