Program details

Overview

Saint Vincent's biology program mixes lab and field work with a liberal arts core. Students pick among three areas of emphasis, namely cell and molecular biology, whole organisms, and populations. There are two degree routes. The arts degree gives extra freedom to take classes elsewhere, which helps those planning a double major or minor. The science degree requires more biology classes and suits students set on professional school or graduate work in the natural sciences. Graduates are equipped for healthcare, environmental fields, teaching and research. A student who adds an education minor can prepare for a secondary certification covering grades seven through twelve. The program draws on faculty expertise, campus resources and a large network of former students. Saint Vincent College is a Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts institution located in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and it offers this program to its students.
