BA/BS in Communication and Media Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Saint Xavier University looks at how people exchange messages through media channels such as print, broadcast and social platforms, and through face-to-face settings like teams and organizations. Coursework is framed by a commitment to social justice rooted in the Sisters of Mercy tradition. Students balance theory with applied practice. Requirements are flexible, so learners can shape their path around their own interests and career aims. Many begin contributing to campus media outlets during their first semester. The Campus Media Center supplies newspaper offices, a visual production studio and a low-power radio station. A senior seminar gives students a culminating project, and small classes keep faculty contact close. Prospective students can request information or apply through the university admissions office, which also publishes tuition details and transfer guidance.
