Overview
The computer science major prepares students for work as software developers and computer scientists. It is offered as either an arts or a science degree, so students can match the depth of technical study to their goals.
The science track focuses on building software across a range of application areas. The arts track requires fewer credits and leaves more room for a second major or study in another discipline.
Both versions are taught in person and take four years of full-time study. A minor in the subject is also offered for students pursuing other majors.
Prospective students can use the program page to request more information or start an application. Costs are not given on that page, so applicants are pointed to the university's undergraduate cost of attendance resource for current expenses. The page also outlines degree requirements, learning goals and course information, which lets applicants review what the major involves before they apply. Advisers and faculty in the department can answer further questions about the curriculum.
