Cert in Architectural Engineering Technologies/Technicians

This technical certificate introduces construction and drafting basics. Students learn to use AutoCAD, organize drawings with layers and colors, and understand the terms and methods of light and heavy construction, alongside basic surveying practice. The catalog lists 19 credit hours of study. The courses are short, career-focused and may apply toward a related associate degree where the catalog says so. Because the credential is brief, it suits students who want to start working sooner, retrain for a new field, or add a documented skill set to existing experience. Southwest Tennessee Community College offers this credential in the Memphis area, and the academic catalog gives the full course list for students planning their schedule. Prospective students can review requirements and sequencing there before applying.
