Cert in Electromechanical Technologies/Technicians

This technical certificate blends mechanical, electrical and computer technologies for manufacturing and packaging settings. Students practice troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and safe work with electrical components, motors, and pneumatic and hydraulic controls. Required courses are arranged in a recommended semester-by-semester sequence in the college catalog. The courses are short, career-focused and may apply toward a related associate degree where the catalog says so. Because the credential is brief, it suits students who want to start working sooner, retrain for a new field, or add a documented skill set to existing experience. Southwest Tennessee Community College offers this credential in the Memphis area, and the academic catalog gives the full course list for students planning their schedule. Prospective students can review requirements and sequencing there before applying.
