Overview

This two-year associate degree readies graduates for first jobs supporting computers, networks and software. Typical roles include help desk technician, software support specialist and network assistant. Others transfer into a longer IT bachelor's degree to keep studying. Every student starts with a common base of information systems and general education. After that, each person picks one of four advisement tracks covering the web, helping everyday computer users, networks, or writing code. The tracks differ in their technical focus, such as hardware, Linux, Cisco routing or Java, yet each leaves space for electives drawn from another concentration. The structure lets students shape a relatively short degree around the career they want. Faculty advisers help with track selection, and contact details for the department are published on the college website for those with questions.
