PhD in International Business

The doctorate in international business administration at Texas A&M International University is a research degree within the Sanchez business school. The degree plan totals 75 semester credit hours. It begins with a graduate business foundation, which may be waived for students holding an AACSB-accredited master's in business or equivalent coursework elsewhere. Next comes a block of quantitative and research methods, with tracks that differ for management, information systems and marketing students versus accounting and finance students. Students then complete major-area study and electives before writing a dissertation. Once dissertation work begins, students stay enrolled for at least three hours each term until it is finished. Prospective students can review the full catalog entry for course codes, prerequisites and the recommended order of study, and should speak with an academic advisor before registering so each term lines up with graduation goals.
