The Master of Bioprocess Engineering is a short, intensive degree aimed at people who want production-ready skills for biopharmaceutical, industrial biotechnology and food technology work. Training takes place partly in a pilot-scale facility in Emeryville with industry-standard equipment. Coursework covers quality by design and statistical experimental design, taught with input from industry practitioners, and students can choose electives in bioengineering, molecular and cell biology, and public health. Visits to local companies and a closing poster showcase connect students with Bay Area employers.
