The Bachelor of Arts in Dance is a contemporary program that encourages students to develop their own artistic voice, embodied scholarship and teaching practice. Dance is used to question assumptions about values, technology and sustainability, and somatic studies connect the different parts of the curriculum.
Students build skills in performance and choreography while studying the role of dance in cultures worldwide. Majors take a mix of dance courses with a share at upper division, earn C- or better in each, and keep a 2.000 average in the major. Transfer students and minors moving into the major work with the Director of Undergraduate Dance.
The program is part of the University of Colorado Boulder catalog. Interested students should review the current catalog entry and contact the responsible department about advising, application steps and upcoming requirements before planning their studies.
