BA/BS in Mathematics

The Mathematics major builds a foundation for work in statistics, actuarial science, teaching and STEM fields. Students choose an emphasis area, one of which is actuarial science, aimed at the modeling and probability skills needed for professional actuarial exams. All math courses are taught by faculty rather than graduate assistants, and most upper-level classes are capped at a small size so students get to know instructors. Majors can take part in the Undergraduate Research Program, a route that frequently ends with conference presentations, and they can complete internships.
