Program details

Overview

Accounting at Utica University is a bachelor of science major on the Utica campus, taught by seasoned professionals who bring real-world experience into the classroom. Marketing, management and finance are woven into the major, so graduates are ready for a changing business world. Students choose between two concentrations. Public accounting sets students on the path toward New York state certification as a public accountant, and private accounting develops skills in budgeting, cost analysis and financial statement preparation. The bachelor's degree alone does not make a graduate eligible to become a CPA, but combining it with Utica's MBA in Professional Accounting satisfies the state's 150-hour requirement. The program is accredited by ACBSP. Related offerings include an online master's in accounting, forensic accounting and the professional accounting MBA.
