The architecture degree blends art and science and is oriented toward transfer into university architecture programs. A general pathway covers design, graphics, history, codes, construction and structural design, while a landscape pathway focuses on plant knowledge, composition and landscape technology. Graduates may continue in architecture, landscape architecture, construction management and related fields. Major courses must be passed with at least a C, and students must also satisfy either the college general education pattern or the Cal-GETC pattern. Anyone planning a bachelor's degree should choose Cal-GETC, and extra degree-applicable units bring the total to the 60-unit minimum.
The program also lists learning outcomes that describe what graduates should be able to do. Students can consult the catalog for the complete course list, the related degrees and certificates, and the required and elective classes that make up the major. Advisors can help map a path that fits each student's goals.
