BA/BS in Chemistry

Chemistry at Widener is offered as a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts through the College of Arts & Sciences. Students investigate the building blocks of life and tackle global issues such as sustainability. The curriculum builds practical laboratory skills and a personal research focus. Undergraduates can join research projects from their sophomore year and finish with an independent study project, guided by professors who have won awards for their teaching and scholarship. Graduates are prepared for science careers in research laboratories, forensic work, medicine, drug development and related fields. The major is delivered in person at the Chester campus, and a chemistry minor is also available. Widener is a private university near Philadelphia, so students can combine campus life with access to regional internships, employers and cultural resources. Advisors and faculty mentors help each learner plan coursework, activities and next steps well before graduation.
