Overview
Created in 1920 as a higher education institution focusing on construction and architecture and departments were functioning in various higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan.
In 1975 the Azerbaijan Engineering and Construction Institute was establised as an independent institution on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev on the Decision of Ministerial Council of the Azerbaijan Republic. It acquired its current title in 2000
