Founded 1996 as joint venture between the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP), the Debswana Diamond Company and the Botswana Institute of Accountants (BIA).
Gaborone Main Campus opened 1999, Francistown campus opened 2007. School of Computing and Information Systems is run in Partnership with University of Sunderland (UK), the School of Business and Leisure is run in Partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and University of Derby (UK)
