Founded 1959 following the merger between Ji'an Technology College, Ji'an Agriculture College, Ji'an Medical College, Ji'an Normal College.

The college was closed down 1963 and eventually separated into several schools. Became Jinggangshan Normal College following the merger between Jinggangshan Normal College, Jinggangshan Medical Junior College and Jinggangshan Vocational Technical College 2003.
